All Other Signs of Spring

35 mi. west of battle mountain:I was hiking with my teenage daughters and we were watching what I originally thought a hawk, as it soared closer and closer, and got larger and larger, we thought it saw something interesting for dinner nearby.

Suddenly we realize as it swooped down amazingly quickly, was it was my 16 year old daughter it had it's eye on.

It must have had a wingspan of six and a half to seven feet, and she had to fall to the ground to avoid it's tallons.

After a little research I believe it may be a golden eagle, but is it normal for it to try and grab a 100lb, 5"3' person?
