A very cold-looking hummingbird (male) was sitting on our feeder this afternoon. He sat for a long time. I guess he was preparing for the cold temps that were expected (low 20's) during the night. He came during an unusual cold snap here. It had been balmy, even hot, just a week ago, with temps in the 80's. This weekend's high temp is expected to be in the 40's.
