Tulips BLOOMED

Date: 04/02/2007

Number: 1

We had just spent the previous on spring break. One tulip greeted us on April 2 as we resumed school. The temperature was 70ºF. We observed 119 plants with 62 buds and 1 flower. The next day we had 9 flowers, and on 4/4 we counted 21 flowers. Unfortunately, the temp. on 4/5 was 29ºF, and the tulips were covered with snow and ice, lying on the ground. Today, 4/9, four flowers are opening in the sunny side of the garden. The tulips certainly have adapted to the extreme Ohio weather!
