About one third of our tulips bloomed last week while school was on Spring Break. Unfortuately, after several beautiful, warm days we were struck by a very cold snap with 20 degree low temps and snow. By the time we got back to class, the tulips that had bloomed were slumped over with some tattered flower petals. They did seem to recover a bit when the weather warmed slightly in the afternoon. This gives us hope that the remaining flowers will survive if the weather warms up soon. When I told the children I would report our tulips on computer, Ben was excited to say that our dot on the map would turn to red.
