I am not a birding expert; but I strongly believe I saw a large flock of whooping cranes flying north today at 4:26 PM CDT. Flock was flying in V formation, almost due north, at roughly 300-400 feet altitude. I estimate 30-40 birds. Birds were very large, white, with black patches on wings. These were definitely not pelicans, egrets, or geese; they were quite large and their bodies were long and thin.
