A monarch was seen near Cave Creek, Arizona, reported to the "DesertLeps" listserv, and forwarded by Paul Cherubini. The observer stated:
I started out at the Sears-Kay Ruins. Then I moved up the road where this a a "creek". Water perks up here and there, but it doesn't go over 50 yards before it disappears again. This is where the monarch was seen.
(Sears-Kay Ruins is a rural area roughly 25 miles north of Phoenix. The ruins are all that remains of a Hohokam Indian village dating back approximately 900 years; located northeast of Cave Creek, Arizona (33.833N, -111.95W)
