Today I saw a faded female with a few small chunks out of the trailing edge of her right forewing. She was nectaring on my Anacacho orchid tree.
A short time later, she was gone. I wondered if she would go to my milkweed patch. Sure enough, there she was on a milkweed. I didn't find any eggs though.
