Since we planted our test garden near the school so it would be protected, the bulbs took some time to emerge. Some of our test bulbs, that we planted out in the playground, emerged two weeks sooner. The difference in the soil temp. between the emerging bulbs and those that had yet to pop was about 15 to 20 degrees. My third graders concluded that the soil temp. must be 55 to 60 degrees for the bulbs to emerge.
