Finally my first tulip has bloomed. I helped with the tulip garden at Calvary Lutheran School, just north of the District of Columbia's point, which is 10 miles south of my home. Today's blooming is 17 days after the school's tulips bloomed. We have had some cold weather the last two weeks, which must have discouraged the buds from opening. There will be a story in the Washington Post's KidsPost about the tulip project at Calvary. Right now the article is scheduled for April 26, but the date can change at the last minute. Schools all around the Washington area may be featured in the story.
