Spring arrived today in a small humming package.
I was buzzed in my garden today at 2:45 p.m. by my first hummingbird of
the season.
(the garden is located on Fritz Cove Rd. in Auke Bay (about 12 miles
north of downtown Juneau))
I assume it was Rufous because that is the only kind I have ever seen in
my yard.
Right on schedule....the first blueberry blossom opened here on
Thursday. So far I have spotted two blueberry blossoms here.
I was also buzzed by my first mosquito of the season.
Also spotted the first yellow of the skunk cabbages in my garden.
