Tulips EMERGED

Date: 04/20/2007

Number: 1

The tulips have emerged, but the plants are size are much smaller than those at the higher elevations outside the city. This group of bulbs was located at the point of most visibility, where the sidewalk into the community center first meets the garden. The snows were probably piled high there and ground compacted as people took "short cuts". The plants are are crunched from their effort to go through the snow and earth, but we are hopeful that they will bloom!
