A female Hummer starting building a nest inside a small tree/scrub located outside on our patio which also has a small Koi pond & water fall. Unfortunately, all of our fish were recently eaten by what we assume was a raccoon. We noticed she laid 2 eggs last week so I placed a feeder outside and she has been feeding regularly. We’ve purchased new Koi fish for the pond, which we should get in a few weeks. However the challenge I face now is how to clean the pond to get it ready for the new fish, without freaking out the Hummer. Anytime I go near the nest, the Hummer flies out and gets right in front of me. Do I need to fear being attacked by the Hummer? Are there any suggestions as how to handle this situation? Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks!
