Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 04/23/2007

Number: 1

When I noticed the butterfly yesterday afternoon the winds had picked up to about 10 to 15 mph (my
guess). It was in my front lawn flying from my
flower patch of pansys and crape myrtyle tree. It was a medium size (little smaller than the yellow
swallowtail) although, I didn't have my glasses on ;) It was sort of just swooping down and back up. Not 100% sure but it was bigger than the butterfly
of similiar color (don't know the name but know its
the same color as monarch but much smaller)...
