It`s been quite warm of late (20-22 degrees C.) as I was digging out an old Dogwood root, I noticed several plump earthwarms in the upper ,warmer layer of soil. Digging deeper(10-12 inches) there is still frost in the ground ,most notably in the shaded area of the garden.
