Hummingbird, Ruby-throated (FIRST)

Date: 04/22/2007

Number: 1

The feeders have been out for the past couple weeks...waiting! My neighbor & I have been watching for them, and we had just commented the day before that they had been spotted nearby but we hadn't seen them yet. Then yesterday (Sunday, April 22) at about 4:15 p.m. I saw a hummingbird at the feeder about 20 feet from the house. The hummer stayed for a few minutes and I didn't see it again. Then today, Monday, April 23, at 7:30 a.m. a tiny male ruby-throated hummingbird appeared at the feeder right outside my kitchen window. It sat on the perch and drank. It was nice and warm both yesterday & today (60 in a.m./80 in afternoon). It's nice to have the hummingbirds back!
