No monarchs or milkweeds in high-quality tallgrass prairie in Chase County, Kansas on Wednesday or Thursday. I spent a lot of time searching the prairie for milkweeds, and saw no sign of any. Got to see 11 greater prairie chickens dancing on their lek, however.
