This morning a few of our tulips bloomed for the first time. We did not have 100% emergence; only 45/100 plants came up. We are hoping that more will grow as the weather warms. The tulips emerged earlier than in any other year (we have had gardens since 2002). Usually they bloom approximately one month later but not this year. We had very cold weather during the month of March and most of April. Our old gardens have followed the same pattern and also have low emergence rates.
