I noticed that someone in my area has already posted a Monarch sighting but I saw my first Monarchs yesterday, April 24,2007. The temperatures were in the high 70's around 1:00 p.m. and I saw 2 monarchs heading across a field.

The milkweed in my yard apparently has been obscured by my large daylily leaves. The milkweed is 1'-2' high. It wasn't stunted by the frigid temperatures we had two weeks ago. Sorry I didn't get the first emerging milkweed leaves for you but I'm happy to see healthy plants!
