I had a faded female monarch in my back yard in the mountains of Western North Carolina on 4/25, nectaring on money plant and wild mustard and not paying attention to the first common milkweed relatively nearby, up about 4 to 6 inches. I checked the milkweed after she disappeared and did not find any eggs.
