What a strange winter and spring we have had. January was so warm, that I was afraid the tulips would not get their required cold time. February was bitterly cold and the bulbs got the 6 weeks of freezing temperatures they needed. They emerged in a timely manner, with very warm temperatures at the beginning of April. But then we had cold, rainy weeks in the middle of April. I do think this year's tulips are spindley and the flowers are not as large. Although every tulip planted did bloom. My JN garden is always my favorite and the most interesting of all the things I plant.
