Tulips BLOOMED

Date: 05/01/2007

Number: 1

Today our class (Mrs. Caparell and Mrs. Bruno's)went out into the courtyard to see the tulips with Mrs. Torpie. They all have bloomed, except the ones planted in experimental ways. The ones with cardboard on top did not come up. They ones ploanted upside down came up but do not have flowers. The sideways and peeled ones came up and bloomed.
They are so beautiful inside with a lovely pattern. In the morning they are closed up, but they open if it is sunny and warm. They open wide. We think they are waiting for bees to pollinate them. We wonder how long they will stay.
Here's a joke: What flowers bloom under your nose?
Answer: Tulips (two lips) We thought you'd like that one.
We really enjoy looking at the map and seeing what other schools wrote. We saw that no tulips bloomed in Alaska yet. We studied the Arctic so we are not surprised.
