Today, we glanced out the window to see a brilliant red gorget flash by. How did this male Rubythroat know that we just put out the feeder? (By tracking hummingbirds on Journey North's live maps, we knew when they were close by!) Our first usually arrives just as the bleeding hearts are blooming, so this one was right on time.
