Yes they were definitly monarchs. I have noticed over the years that the monarchs usually show up here when the lilacs are blooming. We have had warmer weather this spring than usual. But tonight there is a threat of frost. My husband also seen them and commented that my monarchs were back. I do not pull the common milkweed out of my flower garden because I bring in the cats and raise them. I usually raise about 200 cats and release the butterflies. The milkweeds in my garden are about 10 inches tall but I have not seen any up in the wild. I haven't seen anymore since the day I reported to you, But I have had to work in the afternoons. It was later in the afternoon when I saw them. I had to kinda laugh cause a red admiral butterfly darted out of the bushes at one of the monarchs.
