Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/14/2007

Number: 1

5/13/07 - Mother's Day: Warm (broke a 100 year old high temperature record yesterday - 92), humid winds were present all week. Although thunderstorms threatened a couple of the days this past weekend, we have not received any appreciable rain for a while.
5/14/06 started a little cooler, but again warmed up to be hot - in the upper's 80's, windy and humid with partly cloudy skies.
During the day of the 14th I would say that a "phantom" adult female Monarch was sighted. This was because at 11:30 today a total of 5 Monarch eggs were found on three 2 foot tall milkweeds. (See related report on first Monarch egg sighting). This was a week earlier than last year.
