Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)

Date: 05/17/2007

Number: 1

I found two larva...one slightly larger than the other on some "swamp milkweed" that I planted several years ago specifically to attract monarchs. About two or three weeks ago, I saw a monarch in my yard. I was positive it was a male one. I was so excited to see one this early. Now, today! I go out and find two larvae!!! Must have been a female! The butterfly went to every single milkweed plant...which were only about 2 inches tall at that time!Exciting!
