Have had my eye on a a pair of Hummingbirds here. Finally- after about two weeks I got enough for a identification. Amongst the dozens of Ruby Throats we also have Broad Tailed Hummers. They are know for a distinctive noise that occurs when they fly, by air passing over a particular feather. It makes a whistling sound. They are often cunfused with Ruby Throats. SO listen- if you have a "Whistling Hummer", you probably have a Broad Tailed!
