Manatee spotted along Savannah River beach side of Tybee Island approx. 30 ft from shore near green channel marker off NorthWest tip of island. Time of sighting was 7:15pm till 7:45pm. Distinquishing mark was a 12 diameter semicircular section missing from the end of one of the manatees flippers. Wound appeared to have scarred over. Manatee was active and rolled and bobbed occasionally. Lifted it's head once to look around. Shimping fleet was in the area and two shrimp boats were anchored for the night less than a half mile away near the entrance to Lazaretto Creek.
