The monarch was trying to fly as the wind was about 45 mph (he did pretty good though). Besides the wind it was 90+ degrees and sunny. I actually saw two - one on the 5th and one on the 7th of June. This info pertains to the one on the 7th. The one on the 5th had no troubles at all - it was calm, sunny and cool.
