I have been in White River (Algoma District - 48° 35' 28" N
- 85° 16' 53" W)for 6 weeks. Up in White River a large butterfly and dragonfly invasion/hatch occurred last Thursday (5/31) when butterfly and dragonfly species of all sorts suddenly appeared everywhere when only a day before only a few were around. On that day a number of Monarchs were observed (nothing excessive however) but since that time we had a major cold snap (-4, -6, -2) and both butterfly and dragonfly abundance and activity declined dramatically.
