Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 06/07/2007

Number: 1

I have not seen any monarchs here at home this year yet. Asclepias syriaca and A. tuberosa are up and beginning to bloom, very healthy. Tonya Van Hook reported some immatures in Amherst, VA on syriaca that she censused, but no evidence here at all. My sense is that few migrants made it up along the East Coast this year. (Reporting from Cat Rock Mt., Roseland, VA 37.84, -78.97.)
