I saw my first Monarchs yesterday (May 31/07) in my yard in Elmwood, Winnipeg, as well ! The winds must have been favorable! Yesterday also brought forth a tiger swallowtail (just one). I have been seeing Red admirals for about a week - their early(?) appearance was a surprise. I also thought that they were migratory, but I could be wrong?
