A reliable observer believes his vehicle may have hit a monarch near Hanna, Alberta - at a latitude slightly lower than Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, not far from Drumheller (dinosaur country in the "Badlands"). He stopped and looked for the specimen without success.
Last year, further south from Hanna at Brooks, monarch larva were found on milkweed.
