Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 06/23/2007

Number: 1

It appears that our second flight is on it's way to central Michigan, after a rather slow period. On my milkweed survey today I had one egg and two females wandering the field. The timing seems to be right, the egg that I collected on 5/30 is only few days from emerging from its' chrysalis. By this time last year I had netted and surveyed 11 monarchs, there has been no adult residual population between flights this year. Hopefully it will pick up as we move into summer.
