We have a family of ruby-throated hummingbirds in our back yard feeding off flowers and our feeder. I mention this because the map does not show ruby-throated hummingbirds on the west coast. I don't know when these birds arrived because we just bought this property and put up the feeder in June and within a day they were feeding. Now they are quite tame; will perch on our deck while we are 4-6 feet away.
