Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 06/26/2007

Number: 1

We've seen many more monarchs in the past two weeks here than I ever remember seeing in previous years. Perhaps the reason is the 100 or so milkweed plants right next to our driveway combined with the maturity of the butterfly garden this year. The monarch waystation concept has certainly fostered greater awareness for us, since the butterflies are now right where we can see them every day. We've had many females at the milkweed, and many eggs. Looks like a great start to the season for them.
