Beginning about June 20, we have seen 1 to 3 adult monarchs every day in our milkweed field. I was surprised to see that no one in our area had reported, because several people have told me that they have seen them. Staff at our Butterfly House at the Paul Smiths Visitor Interpretive Center have captured adult monarchs which have already laid eggs. We even have one tiny caterpillar. We're in the northern part of the Adirondack Park, about an hour north and west of Lake Placid.
