Monarch Adult (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/25/2007

Number: 1

I was out working in my yard this afternoon. Around 3.00 I spotted a female Monarch Butterfly flying in and around my flower beds. She was interested
in the purple Lupine which is blooming. She rested a
few moments on the Weigela shrub which is in bloom also. She only stayed for about 10 minutes.
I was disappointed that she didn't stay around my Milkweed plants. It was a very brief visit. This is the first Monarch this spring I have noted in this part of Moncton ( Moncton City Hospital area).
