Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)

Date: 06/20/2007

Number: 1

I observed the catipillar before it was developed into the beautiful monarch butterfly, superisingly, the catipillar was ringed with black and ligtbrown sitting on a deadwood tree branch on the ground of the milkweed plant. It was a beautiful sunny day in June. I sketched the catipillar in my notebook along with the milkweed plant. The catipillar was very beautiful with its shiny black eyes and black legs so close to the ground.
