Practice Report (Any Species)

Date: 07/22/2007

Number: 1

A male Rufous stopped by this evening, spent a good 90 minutes attacking any other hummer approaching either of 'his' two feeders we have up on our deck. He found quite the stragetic location just east of the deck on one of our leaf-less tree branches where he waited for his next victim(s). It was quite a show. Two female Rufous also came through to visit. He didn't seem to mind sharing the 'sniper' tree with either of them. If a Black-chinned hummer came along then sharing was quite intolerable - for the feeders or the tree.
