Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 08/17/2007

Number: 1

In a grove of maple trees, next to Grey Couny Road #1, approx 3 km west of Owen Sound bay, a collection of approx 700+monarchs.
We visited in the early morning, and my husband photographed the clusters.

We witnessed "cascading" as the sun warmed the clusters, about 7:30 a.m.

I found about 33 on the ground tagged and released them.

Early for migration in our area.
