Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 08/11/2007

Number: 1

I collected about 40 larvae on this day. This was the first year I planted milkweed in my yard, and to my joyful surprise, there were larvae even tho my plants were tiny.

I have brought them inside and now most are in the pupa stage. About 30 of them made it to the pupa stage. I will release them once they hatch.

I have always been a monarch lover, so I like to raise them. It's hard to find large areas of milkweed in my area, so that is something I would like to change.

Thanks for your work! I am teacher (math), but I still take the pupa to school to show my students. They love it.
