I had 300 to 500 monarchs nectaring in my Monarch Waystation yesterday (8-24-07)
Looks like about the same today. Last night many roosted in the woods in ones or twos. I did find one small roost of about 50. It looks like the migration has started.

I believe this year that monarch numbers are below the average of the last 12 years for my farm. Certainly much better than last year, but the numbers I’m seeing now I often see in the first half of August.
