Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 08/24/2007

Number: 1

Today when passing through the park that runs from the rear of Toronto's "Fort York" to a set of steps giving access to Strachan St. Bridge, we were stunned to be surrounded by nothing less than flocks of Monarchs (literally hundreds). It was so beautiful I had to find out if people "in the know" knew. They flew above and about us as we walked along the path to the steps, and alighted and festooned various branches of the trees overhead.
