Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 08/28/2007

Number: 1

We were vacationing at Keuka Lake in Penn Yan, NY. While my dad was mowing the lawn, about 20 monarchs came out of the pine trees and fluttered around. I took many pictures and there was one particular butterfly that loved being photographed by me. He/she fluttered around to different places and slowly opened/closed its wings while I took pictures. What a great experience. Afterwards, my parents, nieces, and I read about monarchs and made a scrapbook page of them. Now, we want to learn more.
