Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 08/27/2007

Number: 1

We have spotted a few butterflies in our backyard during the past
couple of days, and this morning there were a dozen. Last year
our neighbour had hundreds of them in their backyard and we
reported them. We are directly across Lake Ontario on a small
Peninsula.

On the 27th, I saw a few
on the 28th (yesterday) at 7:00 pm inthe neighbours yard
they increased to over 40-50, I assume after flying over
Lake Ontario and then after about 20 minutes they were all
quiet and resting in the trees. We assume it was because
dusk was coming.
