Our home is surrounded by a 160 acre hay field in full bloom. The monarchs began appearing on 8/22/07 and the number grew to the hundreds by 8/26/07. They roosted in our maple and birch trees. The numbers began to diminish on 8/29/07 and on 8/30/07, almost all were gone.
