Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 09/03/2007

Number: 1

Several hundred monarchs are roosting in our maple trees tonight. This is the first ones I've seen migrating. We cater to the monarchs every summer by allowing milkweed to grow and also planting a good sized flower garden for them to feed in. Many of them have pupated here this past summer and there are still caterpillars in the milkweed.
