Monarch Fall Roost

Date: 09/03/2007

Number: 1

am so excited because I went outside tonight and I saw many many monarchs! I was trying to count them but it was hard because they were fluttering all over the place. I know that I had to see and count at least 30 or 40 of them. I tried to look in the trees to see if they had roosted and count them that way, but it was difficult to tell what was a butterfly and what was a leaf on the tree. I am fairly certain that today was their first day here.

I found it to be quite amazing because when they were hear last year, it was almost exactly the same kind of weather. It was really sunny, warm and very little breeze. I don't know if this has any direct correlation or not.

I will check again tomorrow night and keep you updated.
