Near Grafton/Cobourg area, it was quite windy yesterday, but the monarchs enjoyed nectaring on clover in a nearby farm field. Also collected about 20 large larva and tagged 50 more monarchs. The elderly property owner described with great enthusiasm how, last Thursday night, hundreds of monarchs that had been nectaring in the clover field and on the large field of goldenrod adjacent to it clustered on her small sugar maple tree.
