Signs of Fall

Date: 09/08/2007

Number: 1

As the cold front approched and pasted, the monarchs were beautifully floating southward through Garden City, Kansas. I sat out in my yard and enjoyed, not only the butterflies, but the migrating birds. Red breasted nuthatch, gray catbird, 2 Northern Orioles, a female cardinal, and the House Finch population is going up. This morning there was a Downy Woodpecker. I know most of these birds are not really rare or maybe too exciting for everybody, but they ARE migrating through my yard. Love the FALL.
